Estonian Sawn Timber
Estonia is one of Europe’s most forested countries – roughly half of its land is covered by forest. The main commercial species are Scots pine, Norway spruce, birch and aspen, growing in a temperate Baltic climate.
As an EU member state, Estonia’s timber trade falls under the EU Timber Regulation and the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), so traceability and due diligence are built into the supply chain. FSC and PEFC certified material is widely available.
Estonia has a modern sawmill industry, and the short shipping routes across the Gulf of Finland, between Tallinn and Helsinki, make for quick and flexible deliveries.
